Yes i'm a girl! i'm 12 i'm just browsing through this stuff. Hmm... lets see my comment is the video is cool it looks so easy to do the ollie but i know it isn't.Anyway i would like it if someone gave me some tips on olliein coz like i've tried to and i read in this artical it took the guy a year to learn it, i know it takes heaps of practise but i'm very impationt! I can like just get the two front wheels up heaps and a little bit of the third wheel but can't get the fourth wheel up. How does the skateboard acturly follow your feet? i've been wondering could it be the impact of the jump or something? I desperatly need to learn the ollie so i can do all the other tricks. I had this problem.It's probably because your back foot is keeping the board on the ground.When you slam the tail on the ground and jump,you have to jump as you push the tail down,not after. If your back foot is stuck on the board as you push the tail down, you wont get in the air.

hi, im a 14year old skater from Middlesbrough, i can do some of the basic tricks like kickflips, axlestalls rock 'n' rolls and ollies. But i cant ollie up blocks. at my local skatepark their is a block about a foot high and ive being trying to ollie up it for weeks but either my back foot falls off or my back truck gets stuck, do you have any tips to help get that ollie

Err, well, first of all, I'm surprised you can do kickflips without being able to land that... but it's really all about timing. It's not something that I think can be taught (atleast not by way of text). Just time the ollie right, keep your legs up, and you'll nail it. Just takes some logical thinking...

hi im joe i can ollie fine stationary but i can't do it rollingbecause i either ollie to high then land on the nose or i don't ollie at allor i ollie and the board moves to the side and i go wobbily and fall off.

i can ollie about 37-38 inch.not far off the world record. ive skated with a few of danny wainwrights friends,which was pretty cool.I think its safe to say that Mr wainwright is pretty famous,especially around where i live.how many of you have heard of alex bland? hes american... but did you also know he holds the world record for the highest switch ollie? 40inchs? which is huge!!! i guess many of the kids out there these days take tony hawks pro skater too seriously.lol.just becuase jamie thomas ollie'd the leap of faith,doesnt mean he has the best ollie in the world =] im sure there are days when danny wainwright him self cant reach the 44inch mark.

There are videos on the internet that help u ollie better, best way to go high is to bend ur knees really low, the lower they are the higher the ollie will be.

Oh, people don't worry if you can't ollie. The fun is in learning the tricks. And when you try to kickflip, remeber... GET YOUR FRONT FOOT OUT OF THE WAY! This has taunted me since I started. Plus I have a lot of bruises.

It took me ages to learn even a basic ollie (about 8 months) and now (4 months later) i've just learned how to kickflip.

sometimes it's just a question of timing. what it sounds like to me is that you're not sliding your front foot up the board, but you're stomping down. try to get it dialed by sliding your foot instead of stomping. this helps with making it easier to land, too.

yea yea yea.. i can do better than this.. i ollied 10 inches higher and i know lots of people who can ollie higher!! its easy and people think its hard but its not it just takes some practice and to the 12 year old girl.... yea just practise and when i first ollied i had one foot at the top of the board and one at the bottom of the board so yea just keep trying and you'll get it one day.... and for people who think im lying im not email me if u want and ill reply.... smc1451@aim.com or IM me... o yea and im only 15 so thts tha funny part!!!

I've been working on my ollie for a good few years now and i'm up to a respectable 5 decks stacked. first on rail then locked up to build up sturdily

The only thing i can say is just keep at it and don't be afraid to commit, really suck your knees up and well, as koston puts it "I like to set up kick my legs jump in the air and pray" it works ha
